HISTORY

Our founder, Otávio Stefanelli, aiming to build a company fully oriented to serve the increasing automotive sector being developed in the country, decided to create an automobile repair shop, in 1955, which he named Oficina Mecânica Bonfim.

Always attentive and dynamic and owning a very speculative spirit, this man, young yet, gave his first steps to start-up his work, by buying a power lathe, a welding device and a drilling machine.

At first installed at Rua Suíça, in an old room behind a gas station pertaining to Mr. Stefanelli’s father-in-law, Bonfim began accomplishing repair works in bus and truck parts, soon becoming an option basis for the sector.

With the increasing demand for services, the company, under continuous improvement, started to gain its own shape - always marked by the young, entrepreneur, laborious and honest spirit of its owner - and, needing to enlarge its industrial stock, moved to Rua Iugoslávia nº 116.

With the adhesion of the sons, Pedro and Gilberto, in 1967, properly prepared and schooled to give continuity to the work implemented by the father, the company began to invest in the industrial machining sector, working with drawing-based seriated parts, thus enlarging the services portfolio offered to the automotive sector or to those sectors related to it.

In the early 70’s, Bonfim, due to the continuous increasing of activities, was transferred to its present premises, at Rua Iugoslávia, nº 159, with additional investments in machines and equipment, for improvement of production and services.

The follow-up of the technological process, under strict quality control regarding to products & services has been the constant goal of the company, and, after 45 years activity, this makes from Bonfim a mark in the sector, and an historical example to Santo André people - an small shop who have turned itself into a pioneer company, modern and updated, ready to serve its collaborators, clients, friends and suppliers.

he company is installed In the City of Santo André, 30 km far from the capital of São Paulo, in the Great ABC Region, counting with 3.000 m² total area and 4.200m² built area.

2) Vehicle parts companies and automotive industries, for industrial machining sector.

3) Vehicle parts companies and automotive industries, for industrial maintenance sector.

4) General consumers, mainly truck shops and truck/fleet drivers, in all segments.
